I have eaten here 3 times and each time was an awesome experience. First the friendly and professional atmosphere. Secondly the quick and kind service.Now last but not least was the awesome flavor of my meal and the amount given was well worth the price. The first and second time I ordered the seafood platter which was awesome so the last time I ordered the steak which really surprised me the flavor was savory.Longhorn has been my favorite place for eating steaks but now I have a new place to go! Try Newts I believe you will like it. According to when and the time you go you may have to wait but be patient it’s worth it.

I enjoyed my experience here at Newts! Overall 5. There was no wait around 7 pm Friday night and the service was excellent. I ordered all you can eat catfish 25, seafood platter, 1/2 oysters, and hushpuppies & queso. The hushpuppies and queso was sooo good! That was a neat surprise. All the food was delicious and very filling, enough for leftovers. My guest and I did not care for the sides (rice and Mac n cheese), but everything else overpowered the sides. Spent 100 including tip. I would recommend for the all you can eat catfish!
One bite into this food and I had to run here to leave a great comment. This food is absolutely amazing. I got the seafood platter with Mac n cheese fries,catfish and shrimp. I’m from Lafayette Louisiana and I’m a truck driver delivering in the area… I WILL DEFIN BE BACK LOL
We visited on a Wednesday night for a Birthday Dinner, they had wonderful live music. The birthday girl had whole catfish, my wife had butterfly shrimp and I had all you can eat catfish with hush puppies and coleslaw and Southern sweet tea. Everyone reported 5 stars on the meal, the sides and the Sweet tea was perfect. Oh and we drove 40miles one-way. We will definitely be back! Our waitress was Paige, she did a Great Job. Thankyou Newt's for putting your heart and soul into your restaurant.
I gave it a high rating only because other guests gave it a high rating. And I arrived yesterday, it was Sunday.. and they are not open. They generally work 4 days a week. I came in the morning and saw a sign on the glass that they work from 11:00 a.m., went to Truckstop, waited until 11, came back again.. they are closed and then I noticed a piece of paper with a schedule that does not match the schedule on the glass. It's a shame I didn't try the food.
You should eat here. The atmosphere was family friendly and they had live music. All the waitstaff were so very friendly. And the food! Oh my… I ordered the oyster po’boy it has 6 large oysters perfectly fried in a delicate batter, the bread was everything it should have been for the po’boy. The boudin balls were just the right amount of spicy. Dear goodness the hush puppies and queso, the hush puppies were light and the queso had shrimp in it. Oh and the Mac and cheese was thick and cheesy. The fried items were all divine. Next time I will need to try the blackened fish or all you can eat crab.
Good food and great service! Overall atmosphere was good also! The staff was great! Will definitely be going back! I had the crablegs and fried shrimp, hamburger steak another time, and for an appetizer crawfish tails and peppers and cheese bombs.
